The Bards' Guilde Mission Statement To provide an open, collaborative, supportive environment for the Bardic arts of teaching, learning, and performing. An environment that fosters the sharing of ideas and information, and creative, constructive feedback. What is a Bard? We are the singers of songs, the writers of words, the tellers of stories. We are those who play the different drum, who dance the day away in the streets of the city, who coax the music from instruments of wood and skin and wire. We entertain, amuse, and instruct. We deflate the pompous and uplift the depressed. We are all amateurs in the original meaning of the word - lovers of that which we do. We are all professionals in the original meaning of *that* word - we see our art as a calling, not a job or a hobby. We are writers and singers and poets and dancers and musicians and actors and jesters. We are those who see the beauty in all things and share that vision. We are the Bards. What is the Bards' Guilde? The Bards' Guilde is an association of poets, singers, writers, musicians, composers, storytellers and jesters who preserve history in the form of music, poetry, plays and stories. We carefully save the works of bards who have gone before us. But, being free and creative folk, we also create new pieces from historical themes to add fresh life to them. Lastly we create thoroughly new works that can honor, satirize, or record things happening in our little world right now. Does this sound like you? Do you long to make music, sing songs, be merry and jovial all the while teaching others of life and our common history? Then, my dear friends, you have found the right place. Come inside and have a look-see; you may never wish to leave the embrace of the Bards' Guilde. Other Guilde Information Please feel free to review the Guilde Code of Conduct, the various and sundry job descriptions of those who lead the Guilde, or the Guilde news.
